Iran's Per Capita Chicken Consumption Edges Closer to European Standards
The gap between the per capita chicken consumption in Iran and Europe has become narrower, according to an Iranian researcher in Karaj.
Mohammad-Ali Kamali, the head of the Institute of Research on Livestock Sciences, stated that per capita chicken consumption in Iran stands at 15.2 kg compared with Europe's 17.8 kg and 11.2 kg globally.
Chicken production in Iran will increase to 2,063,000 tons a year in the next 10 years from 1,100,000 tons this year, Kamali said.
The official said Iran has the potential to export poultry to Arab states, and remains competitive in this industry.
