Global Shrimp Forum returns to Utrecht, Netherlands with new initiatives for 2025
The Global Shrimp Forum (GSF) is set to make a return to Utrecht, Netherlands in September 2025, with registration opening by March 1, 2025.
Following the success of its past three editions, GSF 2025 aims to continue uniting industry leaders to share insights, address pressing challenges, and foster stronger industry relationships, while also introducing a range of new initiatives.
A notable update for GSF 2025 is the introduction of simultaneous Chinese and Spanish translation. For the first time, attendees can access real-time translations during the opening plenary and most break-out sessions. This change underscores the GSF board's commitment to enhancing attendance and catering to key international markets.
Another new development for the forum will be an expanded focus on retail participation, with a special session on de-risking the seafood supply chain. This retail-only session, set to take place on Tuesday, will gather supermarket representatives to address the most critical social and environmental issues within their supply chains.
Additionally, retail representatives will have the opportunity to engage in an exclusive networking event with GSF's sponsors. The expanded programme encourages retail buyers and CSR managers to participate in various events and discussions throughout the forum.
The GSF team also encourages readers to refer Chinese colleagues or retail representatives who would be valuable participants in the 2025 cohort.
Willem van der Pijl, board member and managing director of the Global Shrimp Forum, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event: "It's always a great pleasure to formally announce the dates for the next edition of GSF and hopefully get the industry excited about next year's event early on. The feedback we had from GSF 2024 was that it was the best one yet, and the board and I feel confident that with the additions we will be making to the event next year, it will continue to go from strength to strength."
