Pakistan's poultry feed producers deny feed contamination

The Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) has denied any corruption in the reported mixing of pig meat in their poultry feed.

PPA told the media that the claim of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was not true. PPA said they were never involved in the contamination of poultry feed by importing pig meat.

Currently, there are 120 feed mills in Pakistan with a local feed production of 5 million tonnes.

PPA is hosting the  "International Poultry Congress 2007," November 9, in which delegations from 23 countries are expected. The congress seeks to discuss more modern ways of preparing poultry feed.
