Agrotop to help build new food processing facility in Georgia

Agrotop, a multinational poultry and livestock processor, announced its plan to build a new meat processing plant in Georgia for food-producing company Chirina.

Chirina expects to begin production within a year and aims to generate 8-10 tonnes of chicken products per day. Agrotop said the facility plans to produce sliced meats, sausages, and cold cuts.

"We have been working with Agrotop for over a decade, since Chirina took its very first step and view this as a long-term relationship," said Revaz Vashakidze, president of Chirina. "It was only natural for us to expand this partnership and build Georgia's largest food processing plant. Our relationship is built on trust and I am sure we will continue to work together to realise more dreams."

Chirina currently produces chicken meat and hatching eggs. Its future facility would help the company to expand its product line. When the facility is completed, Agrotop and Chirina expect it to provide work for 30 employees.

"Chirina is a model for a full vertical integration poultry complex incorporating all the production chain, from seed to fresh meat," said Gavriel Pelleg, Agrotop's chief marketing officer and founding partner. "The new production plant incorporates the most advanced technology, which will include an innovative ventilation concept and the most sophisticated feeding and drinking systems."
