Umitron begins joint project for sustainable shrimp production with CP Foods
Aquaculture tech company Umitron has started a joint project with CP Foods to install a sustainable model for shrimp production, the Singapore-based Japanese firm said.
CPF operates integrated agro-industrial and food business in Thailand and is the largest shrimp business enterprise in the world.
By providing Umitron's solutions, such as applications linked to artificial intelligence and automation technology, to CPF's environment-friendly farms, the project aims to improve the quality of operations and biosecurity, and reduce waste feeding which would help minimise environmental impact.
"Ultimately, the parties encourage spreading sustainable seafood idea in Japan and (the) Asian consumer market and contributing to provide sustainable food in the world," Umitron added.
