*Commonly referred to in China as liquid methionine is methionine hydroxyl analogue, a liquid source of supplemental methionine.
Market analysis
Methionine market remained weak with sales sluggish amid limited feed production. Additionally, export orders dropped lately as European buyers limited purchases. Although price quotes of methionine stayed stable, sellers were willing to give slight discounts in efforts to close deals.
In Europe, prices of Chinese methionine slid to the range of EUR2.50-2.60/kg.
Market forecast
Demand for methionine will continue to stay flat as feed consumption is traditionally soft during November. Methionine prices are seen stable to lower as distributors and traders attempt to clear stocks.
