China's Xinjiang sees 24% drop in cotton imports for 2012

 
 

Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region received 85,000 tonnes of cotton imports in the first nine months of 2012, an on-year drop of 23.9%.

 

The imports value totalled $200 million, falling 42% on-year.

 

In September, Xinjiang's cotton imports dropped 56.3% on-year to 16,000 tonnes. Uzbekistan was Xinjiang's major source of cotton imports.
