China's Yili builds dairy plant in Lanzhou

China's Yili Group will build a dairy processing plant in Huazhuang Dairy Processing Zone in Honggu District of Lanzhou city. Lanzhou is the provincial capital of China's western province of Gansu.

A joint-project agreement was signed by representatives from Yili and Lanzhou's city's officials last Friday (Nov 2).

Phase 1 of the project construction will be completed in August 2008 at a cost of RMB100 million. With this project, Yili's daily milk processing capacity in Lanzhou will reach 500 tonnes. Annual production value of the company will increase to RMB1 billion.
