Austria confirms mad cow disease in Slovenian cattle
Austria on Sunday (Nov 4) announced that a cow originating in Slovenia and slaughtered in Austria had mad cow disease.
The cow was tested before being slaughtered late last month but final results were released the weekend, the Austria Press Agency said. The cow's carcass was put under quarantine after initial results proved positive, the report said.
Austria has detected about half a dozen cases of mad cow disease.
