First African swine fever case in wild boar confirmed in Germany's Saxony region
Germany's Federal Agriculture Ministry confirmed the first case of African swine fever (ASF) in a wild boar in the Saxony region, east of the country, Reuters reported.
Previous cases have all been discovered in Brandenburg state. There are currently 117 confirmed ASF cases in Brandenburg since the first case there was reported on September 10.
All the cases have been detected among wild boar. No farm livestock have been infected.
China, Japan, and South Korea have banned German pork imports since the first ASF case was confirmed there.
