Brazil's October pork export falls 32 percent on-year
Brazil's pork export revenue for the month of October was down 32 percent on-year to US$91.1 million, compared to the US$120 million seen in October 2006, according to figures from the Brazilian Development Ministry Foreign Trade Department (Secex).
October exports also fell 1 percent compared to the US$90.1 million seen in September.
In volume terms October exports totaled 44,200 tonnes, the same as in September but down 21 percent from 56,000 tonnes in October 2006.
The average price was US$2,080/tonne in October, down 3 percent from the US$2,139/tonne in October 2006. Prices were US$2,038/tonne in September.
