China lifts ban on two Fonterra ingredients for infant formula

On October 31, New Zealand's Fonterra Group announced that China has lifted a ban on the import ofFonterra whey powder and base powder imposed in August last year in the midst of the botulismscare, which turned out to be a false alarm.

Fonterra would be able to resume selling the two ingredients to Chinese infant formula manufacturers which accounted for about 3% of its total exports to China.

China is New Zealand's biggest dairy export country.
