Malaysia's 2011 feed imports up 10.4% or US$906 million

Malaysia spent US$906 million in total feed ingredient imports in 2011, 10.4% more than US$820 billion recorded in 2010.

Speaking at the Livestock Asia Expo and Forum 2013 (LA 2013) pre-event panel discussion on the Impact of Feed Cost on Poultry Production, Director of Livestock Technology Resources Development, Division of Veterinary Services, Dato Dr Quaza Nizamuddin Hassan Nizam said the government has introduced meat production and automation incentives, as well as incentives for farmers to convert to closed house systems.

LA 2013 will be held on September 24-26 2013 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.
