Egypt's GASC buys 210,000 tonnes Russian, US wheat

 

 

Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) said Wednesday (Nov 1) it bought 210,000 tonnes of Russian and US wheat, on a free on board basis, for shipment Dec 11-20.

 

Of the total, GASC bought 30,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Bunge, another 30,000 tonnes from Cargill, 30,000 tonnes from Nidera, 30,000 tonnes from Louis Dreyfus and 30,000 tonnes from Silverstone all at the price of US$191 a tonne, Nomani Nomani, undersecretary and vice chairman of GASC, told Dow Jones Newswires.

 

GASC also bought 60,000 tonnes of US soft white wheat from Toepfer at US$184.50/tonne, Nomani said.

 

GASC last bought wheat Oct 27 when it purchased 180,000 tonnes of Russian and US wheat for shipment Dec 1-15.
