US poultry sector provides over 2 million jobs and US$555.9 billion in economic activity

 


An updated economic study released by the US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY), National Chicken Council, National Turkey Federation, and United Egg Producers, showed the US poultry sector provides 2,012,269 jobs, US$125.6 billion in wages, US$555.9 billion in economic activity, and US$33.7 billion in government revenue, USPOULTRY reported.

 

Data from the study showed the US chicken industry provides 1,517,797 jobs, US$94.9 billion in wages, US$417 billion in economic activity, and US$25.5 billion in government revenue. The US egg sector provides 112,723 jobs, US$6.9 billion in wages, US$33.7 billion in economic activity, and US$1.8 billion in government revenue.
