Indian Traders Book Export Order of 30,000 MT Wheat to Dubai

Indian traders have booked export orders of 30,000 metric tons of wheat to a buyer in Dubai. Delivery is expected later this month.

"Two Indian companies have entered into a deal for exporting 30,000 tons of wheat at $165 per metric ton, free on board, for November shipment to Dubai," an industry official said.

According to industry officials, the wheat is from India's 2004 crop, which was harvested in March this year and has been sourced from Gujarat in western India.

Indian wheat exports have slowed to a trickle since August 2003 after the government withdrew subsidies to exporters.
