Meyn expands US footprint with US$65 million investment in new manufacturing & innovation campus

Meyn, a global leader in poultry processing solutions, is investing US$65 million in a new 58-acre campus in Westminster, South Carolina.

The project marks a major step in expanding Meyn's presence in the Americas—adding engineering, manufacturing, and training capacity to support customers with greater proximity, consistency, and service continuity.

The site will include a 187,000-square-foot Manufacturing Centre, an 18,000-square-foot Meyn Experience Centre, and an 80,000-square-foot Parts Distribution Centre for rapid parts delivery, rebuilds, and service support. Together, these facilities expand Meyn's production and service network across the US, Canada, and Latin America while increasing global capacity and supply chain resilience.

"The US market is unique — processors here think differently, operate differently, and scale differently. This campus puts us right beside them, enabling us to co-create solutions that drive the next generation of performance," said Todd Rhodes, Vice President & General Manager, Americas for Meyn.

The investment comes at a pivotal time for poultry processors across the Americas, as production demands rise and the industry moves toward more integrated, data-driven operations. By establishing a US manufacturing and engineering base now, Meyn is preparing for the next phase of modernization—creating a reliable backbone for connected, data-driven, and performance-oriented processing across the region.

Regional hub for precision manufacturing

Meyn has built its reputation on the close integration of innovation, engineering, and manufacturing—ensuring every design can be produced, assembled, and maintained with measurable precision. The new campus continues that legacy, establishing a regional hub for advanced production and engineering collaboration. Equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machining, metal forming, welding, and surface-treatment technologies, it provides full control over production quality and repeatability while adding regional redundancy to Meyn's global network.

"Meyn's heritage of precision engineering is a great foundation," said Joost Weel, CEO of Meyn. "Our new US campus builds on that strength by tailoring technology for American processors — practical, accessible, and ready for their specific challenges. It also positions us to be the most dependable source for innovative poultry-processing solutions, parts, and service."

At the same campus, the Meyn Experience Centre will serve as a working demonstration and training facility, bringing the company's integrated approach to life. Complete processing lines will be installed for hands-on learning, system optimization, and operator training. By combining development, production, and education under one roof, Meyn creates a continuous loop between its engineering teams and processors, ensuring that innovations translate directly into measurable plant performance.

Engineering and manufacturing for US processors

The US poultry industry presents distinct engineering parameters, including line-speed and inspection requirements, larger average bird sizes, different chilling systems, and processing layouts designed for local product preferences. Meyn's US-based innovation team will combine global expertise with local insight to adapt proven technologies to American conditions, finetuning high-speed systems for greater precision, yield, and compliance.

The investment reflects Meyn's long-term commitment to developing local talent and industry partnerships. Westminster, South Carolina, was selected for its skilled workforce, strong manufacturing base, and proximity to leading technical colleges and universities. The project will create more than 170 new jobs across manufacturing, assembly, and office functions, building a sustainable regional talent pipeline.

Groundbreaking is planned for November 2025, with construction through 2026 and the official opening of the Manufacturing Centre and Experience Centre in early 2027. The Parts Distribution Centre is already operational, expanding logistics and service support across the Americas.
