Russia's grain production reaches 72.2 million tonnes
As of October 26, 2012, Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 38.4 million hectares or 98% of the harvested areas, with the average yield totalling 18.8 centners/hectare, and the general production - 72.2 million tonnes of grains.
This is according to operative data of agricultural departments of the subjects of the Russian Federation as informed to the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Agrarians harvested wheat throughout the areas of 21.4 million hectares (99%). The produced volumes totalled 39.6 million tonnes of the grain (in 2011 - 58.9 million tonnes). The average yield reached 18.5 centners/hectare (c/ha).
Agrarians harvested barley throughout the areas of 7.6 million hectares (98%), and produced 14.5 million tonnes of the grain (in 2011 - 17.6 million tonnes). The average yield totalled 19.0 c/ha.
Russia harvested corn for grain throughout 1.4 million hectares (70%), and produced over 5.6 million tonnes with the average yield of 40.9 c/ha. Russia harvested rice throughout 174,000 hectares (87%), and produced 1.1 million tonnes with the average yield of 64.0 c/ha.
Agricultural enterprises harvested 567,900 tonnes of buckwheat throughout the areas of 695,700 hectares (98%), with the average yield of 8.2 c/ha. Agrarians harvested 1.2 million tonnes of soy throughout the areas of 883,000 hectares (60%), with the average yield of 13.9 c/ha.
Russia harvested sunflower seed throughout the areas of 5.3 million hectares (82%), and produced 6.9 million tonnes of the oilseed (in 2011 - 6.4 million tonnes) with the average yield of 13.0 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested 1.1 million tonnes of winter and spring rapeseed throughout over one million hectares (84%), with the average yield of 10.3 c/ha. Agrarians harvested common flaxseed throughout the areas of 50,600 hectares (88%), or down 1,700 hectares compared to the same date last year.
Russia planted winter grains for the harvest of 2013 throughout 15.5 million hectares (92% of the forecast), besides winter rapeseed planting areas totalled 281,000 hectares (93%), up 152,000 hectares compared to the similar date last year.
