Philippines: Quake brings nearly US$3 million damage to poultry, livestock in northern Cebu

The magnitude 6.9 earthquake that rocked Cebu in September 30 brought at least ₱171 million (US$2.90 million) in damages to poultry and livestock in northern Cebu, based on initial data from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Visayas.
DA 7 has facilitated its intervention with the distribution of relief aid to affected individuals in the poultry and livestock sector.
The intervention is based on the result of damage assessment, said Dr. Leo Peletero, assistant chief of the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) alternate focal person of DA 7.
