22% rise in Philippines' pork imports in first nine months of 2022

The Philippines has imported a total of 545,214 tonnes of pork and pork products in the first nine months of 2022, according to data from the country's Bureau of Animal Industry.

The amount represents a 22% increase compared to the 435,320 tonnes imported from January to September 2021. This September, 80.37 tonnes were imported, up 47% for the month compared to 2021.

Leading origins for the first nine months of the year include Spain (178,674 tonnes) and Canada (101,526 tonnes) followed by Brazil (58,973 tonnes).
