Ukraine to trade corn for Russian wheat
Ukraine may supply corn to Russia in exchange for wheat, Ukrainian Agriculture Policy Minister Nikolai Prisyazhnyuk said Monday (Oct 25).
The Russian government plans to ask Ukraine to consider corn exports to Russia in exchange for wheat, Prisyazhnyuk said.
This issue is expected to be discussed during Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Kiev on Wednesday (Oct 27), Prisyazhnyuk said.
Russia has enough grain to cover domestic demand, but it has more wheat than fodder grain, which is why it wants to swap some wheat for Ukrainian corn, Prisyazhnyuk said.
