Algeria's OAIC issues tender to buy soft wheat

European traders said OAIC, Algeria's state grains agency, has issued an international tender to purchase soft wheat for shipment to two ports, Nasdaq reported.

The nominal 50,000 tonnes sought in the tender were shipped to two ports, which generally suggests a modest purchase is anticipated, according to traders.

The tender's submission deadline is October 25, and price offers must be valid through October 26.

The main supply regions, including Europe, are in demand for the shipment of wheat during the following times: November 16 to November 30, December 1 to December 15, and December 16 to December 31. Shipping occurs one month earlier if the product is from South America or Australia.

The ports of Mostaganem and/or Tenes should be used to discharge the wheat. Algeria is a significant buyer of wheat from the European Union, particularly France.
