Ukraine's poultry population dropped by 1.1% in August to 252.743 million heads against July's 2.689 million heads.
This is according to Ukrainian News which learned this from the State Statistics Service as of September 1, 2012.
In private farms, the poultry population decreased by 2.4% or 3.213 million heads, and in specialised farms rose by 0.4% or 0.523 million heads.
In comparison with September 1, 2011, poultry population rose by 7.6% or 17.799 million heads. In specialised farms, the poultry population increased by 14.7% or 15.419 million heads, and in private farms - by 1.8% or 2.379 million heads.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in July, the poultry population rose by 3.4% or 8.446 million heads against June to 255.432 million heads as of August 1, 2012.
