Pioneer offers 22 new GM soybeans for 2006 season
US company Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., has released 22 new soybean varieties under the 'M-Series', for the American 2006 planting season.
'M-Series' varieties offered improved resistance to soybean cyst nematode and phytophthora root rot, including improved tolerance to sudden death syndrome and iron chlorosis.
All the varieties contained the Roundup Ready gene licensed from Monsanto.
Don Schafer, Pioneer's soybean product line manager said the new release "fills a continued need to manage today's insect and disease challenges." He added that the 'M-Series' varieties also had "outstanding yield potential."
