Spain holds top spot as EU's leading compound feed producer

Spain's animal feed production reached 37.5 million tonnes in 2022 and as such, the country remains a leader in the European Union for compound feed production last year.

This is despite a 2.6% decrease compared to 2021.

By species, the production of compound feed for pigs continues to be the most significant, with 48.49% of total production, followed by cattle and poultry feed, which represent 20.74% and 19.41%, respectively.

 
Compared to 2021, last year's production of pig feed decreased by 4% and cattle feed by 1.6%, while poultry feed increased by 0.6%.
