Brazil Poultry Meat Exports Up 25.7%
The Brazilian exports of poultry meat over the Jan-Sep 2003 period increased by 25,7%, as compared to same period in 2002. On the period the country shipped 1.432 million metric tons or a turnover of US$1.4 billion.
Brazil estimates total exports of US$2bil until the end of the year, main part of which in cuts with 854,057 m tons.
Despite the growth on exports there was a fall of 24,5% on meat exports to Russia - one of the main importer of Brazilian meat.
This year (Jan-Sep period) the exports to Russia totalled 151,000 m tons against 201,000 m tons in equal period in 2002.
