Ukraine produces 38.96 million tonnes grains
 

 

Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 13.24 million hectares or 89% of the forecast with produced volumes totalling 38.96 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 29.4 centners/hectare as of October 18, 2012.

 

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on the same date in 2011 agrarians produced 46.29 million tonnes of grains throughout the areas of 13.64 million hectares with the yield of 33.9 centners/hectare (c/ha).

 

In particular, on the reporting date of 2012 agrarians already completed harvesting buckwheat and millet. Agrarians harvested corn throughout 2.98 million hectares (67%), and already produced 12.72 million tonnes of the grain, the yield - 42.6 c/ha.

 

Ukraine harvested sunflower seed throughout of 4.62 million hectares (96%). The produced volumes totalled 7.58 million tonnes, the yield - 16.4 c/ha.

 

Agrarians harvested 151,800 tonnes of rice throughout the areas of 22,900 hectares (89%), with the average yield of 66.2 c/ha. Also, agrarians harvested 1.88 million tonnes of soy throughout the areas of 1.16 million hectares (80%) with the yield of 16.2 c/ha.

 

As of the reporting date, agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2013 throughout 7.41 million hectares (91% of the plan). In particular, Ukrainian agrarians planted winter wheat throughout 6.30 million hectares (95%), winter barley - 801,600 hectares (66%), winter rye - 300,500 hectares (98%).
