Brazil January-September corn exports up 252.3 percent to US$ 1.141 billion
Brazil's corn exports surpassed $1 billion for the first time ever January-September, at $1.141 billion, up 252.3 percent on the same period last year, Antônio Donizeti Beraldo a technical aide at the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) said Thursday (October 18).
Beraldo said this was due to greater consumption in the US for ethanol production and a consequent reduction in that country's exports of the grain.
