Grocery chain in Canada to recall beef products due to possible E. coli contamination
Another grocery chain in Canada has its beef products recalled in the country due to a potential E.coli contamination, CBC reported.
More than 50 beef products sold at Whole Foods were included by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in a list of 800-plus recalled items. Walmart is also one of the other retailers affected by this development.
In addition, the agency had also investigated possible E. coli 0157:H7 contamination in some beef and veal products sold by Ryding-Regency Meat Packers Ltd. and St. Ann's Foods Inc. since late September. The investigation led to suspension of safety licence for the slaughterhouse and processing plants, which are both in Toronto.
So far, there are no confirmed cases of illnesses associated with the consumption of affected products.
