Rubezh to spend US$120 million in poultry breeding

Agricultural company Rubezh intends to invest US$120 million in building new poultry breeding facilities in Russia's Pskov region, regional officials report.

The funds are reportedly to be used to build new facilities at premises of the existing Pskovskaya poultry. Under plans, as a result of the investment, the poultry's annual capacity is to triple from 20,000 to 60,000 tonnes of broiler livestock.

The project is to create 400 new local jobs, officials said. The complex is scheduled to reach its projected annual capacity in December 2011.
