Ukraine purchases 862 tonnes of grain crops
The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine has bought 862 tonnes of grain crops this year, according to the director of the department for development of the agrarian market in the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, Serhiy Kvasha.
"The Agrarian Fund this year by way of forward purchases has acquired 862 tonnes of grain at fair prices. The Agrarian Fund continues its activities on the market of cattle breeding and other products. Therefore, through a mechanism of minimum and maximum prices, the Agrarian Fund is able to enter the market, when the prices exceed the regulation norms," the official noted.
Kvasha also said that export of agricultural products from Ukraine to the EU countries grew by 5.6% over eight months of 2011.
"Ukrainian export traditionally is guided toward two segments, the CIS countries and the European market. Trends over eight months of 2011 testify to a rise of export orientation toward the EU countries by 5.6%," the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry representative noted.
