Ukraine's poultry population fall to 234 million heads

In August, the Ukrainian poultry population fell by 0.7% or 1.623 million heads, compared with July, to 233.528 million heads as of September 1, 2010.

In private farms, the poultry population went down by 3% or 3.908 million heads, and in specialised farms grew by 2.2% or 2.285 million heads.

Poultry population rose by 5.3% or 11.717 million heads as compared with September 1, 2009.

In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 10.1% or 9.707 million heads. In private farms, the poultry population increased by 1.6% or 2.01 million heads.

Earlier in July, the poultry population grew by 0.9% or 2.084 million heads, compared with June, to 235.151 million heads as of August 1, 2010.
