BioMar announces new managing director of BioMar Chile

BioMar has announced the appointment of Derek Kohn as the upcoming managing director of BioMar Chile.
Kohn will take over his role in November this year. As part of his responsibilities, he will help advance BioMar's commitment to sustainable and innovative aquaculture and strengthen the management of its Chilean business unit.
Together with the organisation, Kohn will continue to drive the strategic goals that has positioned BioMar Chile as the industry leader in sustainable and efficient aquaculture feed solutions. He brings an impressive track record, with over 20 years of experience in leadership positions in the salmon farming industry, having served with companies like Australis Seafood, MultiX and Mowi.
Kohn's latest role is commercial and processing director of Australis Seafood.
"We are thrilled Derek has decided to join us in our effort creating innovative solutions for the salmon farmers in Chile," said Paddy Campbell, vice president of salmon division at BioMar Group. "We firmly believe that close collaboration between us, as feed solutions provider, and our customers will be a significant catalyst in bringing the next generation of sustainable salmon products to market. I am confident that Derek will be able to further develop these vital relationships, at the same time, build a strong organisation around our shared purpose and values."
BioMar Chile, which is part of the salmon division of the BioMar Group, currently provides feed solutions to a wide range of salmon farmers in Chile and is one of the largest business units within the BioMar Group.
Reflecting on his new challenge, Kohn said: "I am excited to join BioMar and have the opportunity to be part of a company that is a key player in the global aquaculture value chain, with excellent products, a strong reputation and an experienced team. I look forward to working together with the team in Chile, as well as meeting colleagues from abroad and contributing to furthering our commitment to sustainable and innovative aquaculture development."
