Denmark's Chr. Hansen introduces new probiotic product
Denmark's Chr. Hansen has created a new probiotic product, named Bacillus for the global poultry market.
The company's Animal Health and Nutrition division said Bacillus is a natural bacterium that is added to animal feed. It helps to prevent the poultry disease Necrotic Enteritis that causes chicken to lose their ability to absorb nutrients from food.
Chr. Hansen expects annual earnings potential of more than DKr 150mn (US$ 28.45 million, EUR 20.13 million). The product will be launched in January 2008.
