Zagro extends biosecurity programmes to East Africa
Zagro's business in East Africa is hitting the upward trend as biosecurity product demands have spiked in both Tanzania and Kenya.
Since agriculture supports 80% of Kenya's population, the demands in quantity of raw materials with the agricultural sector have increased dramatically in order to support the manufacturing sector; the latter supports a ready market for the service industry.
Zagro's biosecurity and public health business line in East Africa have helped local farmers in addressing the common and frequent poultry farming problems. Zagro's flock of nutritional support and biosecurity programmes has integrated proper learning channels for the farmers to be educated about the economic benefits of disease prevention.
Zagro believes that successful poultry farming has a great potention to contribute to food and nutrition security and job creation in East Africa.
Talks with other integrators in the region are also in the works. Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia have great potential and are the next frontiers for Zagro's business. Zagro plans to develop and implement a customised model for biosecurity, vaccination, and management regimes, tailored with Zagro products in mind, to stimulate active product demand from various farm levels.
