Events in the next 3 months
 
In four days, the Latin American and Caribbean Aquaculture 2018 (LACQUA18) will open in Bogota, Colombia. This event will be held concurrently with the 8th Colombian Congress of Aquaculture at the Agora International Convention Centre on Oct. 23-26.
 
We've picked four other events slated within the next three months, including the International Conference on Agriculture, Food and Aqua in Cape Town, South Africa. The conference has for its theme "Discovering Natural Resources through Agri-Food-Aqua 2018" and will highlight keynote presentations, oral talks, poster presentations, and exhibitions.
 
 
Latin American & Caribbean Aquaculture 2018 (LACQUA18)
October 23 – 26, 2018
Bogota, Colombia
 
The Latin American and Caribbean Aquaculture 2018 (LACQUA18) will be held concurrently with the 8th Colombian Congress of Aquaculture in Bogotá, Colombia, at the Agora International Convention Centrre on Oct. 23-26.
 
Special sessions will take place, and these will be on technological advances in the intensive production of tilapia in South America; protease in aquafeed; nutrition ingredients; and health
management.
 
Additionally, there will be a session on "business challenges of fish farming in Colombia," organised by the Federación Colombiana de Acuicultores.

Norway - China Seafood Summit 2018 / China Fisheries and Seafood Expo
November 6 – 9, 2018

Norwegian seafood exporters are especially invited to participate in this summit/expo to explore market opportunities for Norwegian seafood in China. The venue for this twin events is the Hyatt Regency Qingdao.
 
In the morning of the first day, a seminar for Norwegian seafood companies only will focus on Norway-China seafood trade and market developments. In the afternoon, there will be a Mini Expo, which will serve as a meeting place for Norwegian exporters and Chinese companies. Norwegian seafood exporters registered for the expo will be contacted by the NSC for further preparations. Participation at the Mini Expo with a separate stand is reserved for Norwegian seafood exporters.
 
There will be an afternoon seminar on the first day, too, organised by Innovation Norway, on "Roadmap of bringing Norwegian seafood to the Chinese market - practical guidelines".
 
China Fisheries and Seafood Expo is Asia's largest seafood expo and takes place in on Nov. 7-9. The Norway Seafood Council (NSC)  is organising a joint stand at the China Fisheries that Norwegian seafood exporters will be welcome to use.
 
Norway-China Seafood Summit 2018 is organised by the NSC in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and Innovation Norway.
 
 
 
HydroMediT 2018

The 3rd International Congress on Applied Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment or HydroMediT 2018 will focus on research and innovation technology applied mainly in the Mediterranean and its adjacent waters.
 
The theme of the congress, which is held biannually, is "Blue Biotechnology in Aquatic Living Resources". This highlights the importance of novel methods in the secure and sustainable supply of good quality food from the sea.
 
The key note speaker will be Professor Achilles Kapanidis of the University of Oxford, who will talk on "Single-molecule stories: from biological nanomachines to smart biosensors", and the different sessions will run from Thursday, Nov 8, to Sunday, Nov. 11.
 
The official language of the conference is English and the event will be run by a team from the ichthyology departments of three Greek universities and the Panhellenic Society of Technologists Ichthyologists.
 
This third congress is being hosted in Volos, with national and international stakeholders as co-organisers, supporters and sponsors. It will feature speakers from many fields of the fisheries, aquaculture and seafood supply industry, as well as government agencies, environmental bodies and biodiversity scientists.
 
There will be a series of high-profile panel discussions on the encountered thematic and parallel sessions as the congress provides an ideal forum for interactions among scientists, regulators, industry and the concerned general public.

13th World Congress on Aquaculture & Fisheries

International Conference on Agriculture, Food and Aqua

The conference -- with the theme "Discovering Natural Resources through Agri-Food-Aqua 2018" -- highlights keynote presentations, oral talks, poster presentations, and exhibitions.
 
It provides a platform to reach the largest assemblage of participants from the agriculture, food and aquaculture stream through workshops, trade shows, exhibitions, and oral and poster presentations.
 
The keynote session on Day 1 will delve on the topic "Smallholder Fresh Fish Marketing Enterprise: A Veritable Livelihood Strategy for Economic Empowerment in Sub-Saharan Africa" and will have Ikechi Agbugba, vice president of Agrilink International, South Africa, as the featured speaker.
 
Dilip Wedaarachchi, the State Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources in Sri Lanka will be the keynote speaker at the opening of the conference.
