Ukraine's meat production rises 9.3%
Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian meat output grew by 9.3% and made up 2.3 million tonnes, which in turn promoted growth in the export volumes of Ukrainian meat by 62% to 109,000 tonnes and continues a positive trend of previous months.
Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said about this, the Ministry press service told Ukrinform.
"Over recent years, domestic agricultural producers could make milk and meat production profitable. Certainly, this took place with the help of the state. And today, thanks to growth of animal products, Ukraine provides for domestic needs and confidently moves to the import substitution," the government official noted.
The Minister also noted that over recent years, the positive trend became outlined toward the transfer of meat production to agricultural enterprises. Today, over 61% of Ukrainian meat is produced at modern cattle-breeding and poultry complexes.
In addition, according to him, a positive dynamics has preserved in milk production. Since the year start, it was produced to the amount of over nine million tonnes, in particular, at agricultural enterprises production grew by 1.2%.
