Ukraine raises dairy products, meat exports to Russia
Ukraine is boosting its exports of meat and dairy products to Russia.
This is according to Ukraine's Agriculture Minister Nikolai Prisyazhnyuk on Tuesday (Oct.16), as cited by RIA Novosti.
"We are actively raising the exports of dairy products. By the end of this year, we plan to attain the volumes reached in 2011. As for the exports of meat products, it is exceeding the level of 2011," Prisyazhnyuk said without providing any exact figures.
Prisyazhnyuk also said that Russia and Ukraine continue to cooperate in tackling the discord concerning cheese supplies.
In February, Russia's Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare banned cheese supplies from six Ukrainian plants saying that the cheese contained high levels of vegetable fat. It lifted the ban against four producers in May.
