CPF Philippines partners with dsm-firmenich to enhance sustainability in animal farming

 
 


Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) Philippines Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with dsm-firmenich to implement the life cycle assessment platform, Sustell, a key step in CPF Philippines' efforts to advance sustainability in food production, AquaFeed reported.

 

CPF Philippines, a leader in voluntary environmental initiatives within the Philippine animal farming sector, is working to address global challenges around sustainable food production. By adopting Sustell, the company aims to convert complex environmental data into actionable insights that will guide its sustainability efforts.

 

David Nickell, vice president of Sustainability and Business Solutions at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, highlighted the importance of the partnership. "We are committed to improving the sustainability of food systems. Partnering with CPF Philippines allows us to help improve sustainability in animal farming. Through precise, scalable, and credible assessments of a product's environmental footprint from farm to fork, we aim to empower consumers with informed choices and contribute to meaningful progress toward more sustainable food production," Nickell said.

 

Sakol Cheewakoset, chairman and president of CPF Philippines, also underscored the significance of the collaboration. "This partnership marks a significant step in our commitment to enhancing sustainability across the entire value chain. With dsm-firmenich's expertise in animal nutrition and cutting-edge technology, we are confident in driving sustainable growth in the animal farming sector. This collaboration is essential not only for advancing food security but also for promoting the long-term well-being of society and the environment," Cheewakoset stated.

 

The adoption of the Sustell platform by CPF Philippines represents a major stride in the company's sustainability journey, aligning with its goal of fostering sustainable practices in animal farming and food production.
