Hog demand shrank prominently over the past two weeks as slaughterhouses halted operation during the holidays. Sales of pork carcass in major wholesale centres plummeted over the week by 9.9%, from 6,094 tonnes to 5,490 tonnes. Prices of pork carcass were down 1.8% to RMB44.40/kg.
