US to promote DDGS to Saudi Arabia
The US will boost promoting the use of distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and corn gluten feed (CGF) to Saudi Arabia later this month as leaders from the country's largest broiler and dairy operations will attend the Export Exchange 2012 conference held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US.
This is according to the US Grains Council (USGC) on October 11.
In August of 2011, the USGC got DDGS and CGF added to the Saudi Arabian subsidy list of feed ingredient imports. Since then, Saudi Arabia has imported 24,000 tonnes of DDGS and nearly 16,000 tonnes of CGF. Although still a relatively small market, the council anticipates DDGS and CGF sales will rise as buyers become more familiar with integrating feed rations with these products.
Export Exchange 2012 will serve as a timely opportunity for domestic exporters and agribusinesses to build contacts in this new and expanding market and with the other 190 international buyers who will be in attendance. In addition to attending the conference, the Saudi trade team will also visit crop, animal and processing operations in Minnesota and Arkansas.
