Nando's UK launches new plant-based chicken alternative

Nando's UK has launched a plant-based meat alternative to its chicken offered at its restaurants, available at its outlets throughout the UK from October 13, The Independent reported.

The new menu item, called "The Great Imitator" is made from pea protein and designed to taste like Nando's chicken breast fillet. It is served in four strips.

The company said the launch of the new product is part of its environmentally-friendly commitment and to reduce its carbon footprint.

Nando's Australia had launched the same plant-based meat alternative product in January this year.
