Indonesia set to challenge Thailand as major seafood exporter

With Thailand's shrimp exports in a slump, Indonesia's seafood producers see an opportunity to expand their markets overseas, says Harry Lukmito, president and director of PT Sekar Bumi.

Due to the popularity of Indonesian seafood products, exports to the American and European markets can be increased by 40%, Lukmito says.

Seafood exports from Indonesia include shrimp, tuna, snapper, among other things.
