Vinamilk seeing huge export growth with 62% growth in export turnover

According to accumulated export revenues within the last five consecutive years from 2008 to 2012, growth in export revenue of Vinamilk reached 62% annually on average.

In 2008, export turnover of Vinamilk was estimated at over VND1,215 billion (US$57.6 million ); by 2012, Vinamilk's exports  was worth more than VND3,712 billion (US$176.1 million). In the first nine months of 2013, VNM exports reached about VND3,354 billion (US$159.10 million) against total revenue of  VND23, 369 billion (US$1.11 billion).

Up to now, Vinamilk has signed export contracts for the whole 2013, with a total value of US$230 million (VND4,700 billion). Vinamilk products exported now include: Dielac baby formula, powdered nutrients, condensed milk, milk, soy milk and yogurt.

Vinamilk's products comply strictly with Vietnam standards, Codex standards (the standards of international food trade) so they can be exported to the world over 26 countries including the US, Australia, Canada, Russia, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Turkey, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Korea and the Middle East.

These are the main and stable export markets which Vinamilk have overcome barriers and food safety controls. Recently, Vinamilk products were approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for export to the United States.

To achieve that, Vinamilk has launched two new plants including a powdered milk factory in Vietnam and Vietnam Dairy Factory for milk production, applying modern processing technology and food safety quality control system ) with advanced international standards.

Since early 2007, Vinamilk has invested more than VND 500 billion on fivedairy farms in Tuyen Quang, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa; and imported high-yielding purebred HF cow breeds from Australia. Looking ahead, Vinamilk will invest 3 new farms in Tay Ninh (10,000 cows), Ha Tinh (3,000 cows) and Thanh Hoa (20,000 cows).

Vinamilk is linked to more than 5,000 dairy farmers with a total of 65,000 cows, purchasing 460 tonnes of raw milk per day. Currently, Vinamilk purchases raw milk from more than 60% of farmers across the country.
