Argentina's 2013-14 wheat harvest up 17.6% on-year

The Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange said that Argentina is expected to produce 10.35 million tonnes of wheat this season, a 17.6% increase from last year's dismal crop.

Argentina is a top global wheat exporter, with the bulk of shipments going to neighbouring Brazil.

Over the next two weeks, the 2013-14 wheat harvest is set to kick off in the north of the country, although the crop is developing slowly across much of the farm belt due to recent cold weather, the exchange said.
