Germany confirms a further 10 new African swine fever cases among wild boar
Germany's Agriculture Ministry said they have detected 10 new African swine fever (ASF) cases in Brandenburg state, east Germany among wild boars, Reuters reported.
This brings the total ASF cases discovered there to 65 since the first case was reported on September 10. All cases have been limited to wild boar, no farm livestock have been infected.
The Friedrich-Loeffler scientific institute confirmed the new cases, which were discovered around the initial ASF reports.
China's pork prices have increased after banning German pork imports following the report of the first ASF case. Other Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea have also banned German pork imports.
