Angolan mill now produces 3,000 tonnes of cornmeal ready for sale
Nova Cimor Mill in Matala municipality, southern Huíla Province, Angola, has produced over 3,000 tonnes of cornmeal that is now available for sale.
The biggest cornmeal producing company of Huíla had spent Kz500 million (US$776,309) last year to refit its equipment. Its capacity now stands at more than 70,000 bags of 25kg per day.
In addition to Huila, the product is sold in the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Benguela, Huambo, Cuanza Sul, Namibe and Luanda.
Nova Cimor Mill's factory unit representative, Ramiro Maya, told Angop that contacts are in progress with wholesalers and retailers of the province to facilitate the sales of the cornmeal.
The company plans to invest Kz900 million (US$1.4 million) until the end of the year for the acquisition of corn, Maya said.
