China's pork prices rising during September 25-28 period

China's pork prices logged a week-on-week increase during the week of September 25-28, official data showed.

The average price of pork in 16 provincial-level regions tracked by the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs came in at ¥21.22 (US$2.92) per kilogram, up 0.5% from the previous week.

This figure also marked a 32.5% drop from the same period last year, according to the ministry.

Pork demand rose during the period, boosted by the National Day holiday and the Mid-Autumn Festival, leading to higher pork prices, according to the ministry.
