Russia exports 13 million tonnes of grain
Russian grain exports stood at 13 million tonnes with total cost of US$1.5 billion between July 1 last year to July 1 this year, said agriculture minister Alexey Gordeev.
Gordeev earlier confirmed the country would be able to meet domestic demand while export potential in the 2006/07 marketing year would remain at 10 million tonnes. He also reported that this year showed an unprecedented harvest of corn - about 4 million tonnes in addition to producing about 500,000 tonnes of rapeseeds. The latter gets a high price for its exports in Europe, he said.
