UK agriculture minister to meet beef industry leaders
UK agriculture minister Lord Bach has invited key leaders in the country's beef industry to a meeting to discuss important issues affecting the sector. The meeting would be held at the
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs later this week.
The industry leaders would include farmers, processors, caterers, and retailers from the beef industry. Lord Bach called for the meeting to address concerns about issues threatening the future of the UK beef industry, which have been raised by leading representative organisations.
The minister said DEFRA wanted to offer as much help as it could to the country's beef industry. The meeting's focus would also be on lifting the Over Thirty Months rule and the beef export ban as soon as possible.
